- North Shore Distillery's Sonja Kassebaum posted on her blog yesterday about her chance encounter with Katherine Anne Duncan of Katherine Anne Confections. Kassebaum created some amazing cocktails with the intention of pairing with Duncan's truffles, the results of which you'll find in her post. Kassebaum found the experience so inspiring she's thinking of planning an event with Duncan.
- Beer savant Bob Skilnik over at Beer (& More) in Food posted a wonderful recipe last week for a kosher bison shoulder roast. Natch, he recommended pairing it with some He'Brew beer, which provides an opportunity to refer you to yesterday's "BotW" selection, which would actually pair with the roast quite nicely.
- From the Food Chain, the U.S. team didn't fare so well in this year's Le Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie, but Peter Yuen of La Patisserie P acquitted himself well, placing fourth in the individual Viennoiserie category.
- Finally, for their monumental one-hundredth post/podcast at Chicago Bites, Bridget Houlihan and Tammy Green visited - and lived to gab about - Kuma's Corner. As impressed as they were by Kuma's famous burgers (houlihan scored it a 9 on a 10 scale, Green a 7), it was the macaroni and cheese that set their mouths a flutter!
