Sox Grrreat As They Sweep Tigers

Maybe Chicagoist needs to rethink our less-than-optimistic opinion of the White Sox's prospects for putting together a decent season. Following a weekend series sweep of the Detroit Tigers -- who many experts predict to win the World Series -- the Sox return to Chicago for Monday's home opener with a 4-2 record.
By crushing the Tigers 13-2 on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball, the Pale Hose have now scored 38 runs in six games and carry a team OPS average of .870 -- both tops in the American League.
Of course we can't expect this hot hitting to continue all season long, but it gives us hope that they won't again be the lowest scoring team in the AL.
Through the first week, the Sox have also shown positive signs on the mound, as they've gotten their best pitching from the starters who were the biggest question marks heading into the season, John Danks and Gavin Floyd. While Mark Buehrle got rocked on opening day and Javier Vasquez took the loss in their second game, the youngsters bringing up the rear have looked good so far. Buehrle returned to usual form in yesterday's win. Can Vasquez do the same today?
