$10.40 Celebration
Pops for Champagne is hosting its annual 1040 Tax Relief Celebration today from 3 p.m. - 2 a.m. The price of $10.40 is all over the place this evening. It'll get you access to three special glasses of bubbly, a selection of three bar plate appetizers fashioned by new Executive Chef Andrew Brochu (most recently at Alinea), and as a cover charge for two to see the Chris Sargent trio. Finally, all guests will receive a gift certificate for $10.40 when the clock strikes 10:40 p.m.

Over at Café Matou, wine director James Rahn has created a tax day-themed cocktail. Le Percepteur ("The Tax Man") is fashioned from 360 Vodka, F. Meyer Eau-de-vie de Mirabelle and Grand Marnier with “lots” of bitters. IF you aren't a fan of bitters, the bartenders at Matou will gladly adjust the amount of bitterness to your liking, which we assume will correspond to the amount you owe the Man.

Prix Fixe
Opera's weekly Tuesday prix fixe special just happens to fall on tax day this year. Unfortunately for the broke they didn't adjust the price to $10.40 in honor of it. Still you can't scoff at $28.95 for a three-course dinner at one of Jerry Kleiner's immaculately designed hotspots.
