Benny The Bull's High-Five Woes

2008_4_22.benny.jpgUp high! Actually...never mind. A Bulls fan is suing the team after a high five from Benny the Bull left him with a hyperextended arm and a ruptured bicep.

Dr. Don Kalant, an oral surgeon, says Barry Anderson, the guy in the mascot suit, grabbed his arm instead of merely slapping five.

"Benny's flying down the aisle, giving everybody high-fives," Kalant's attorney, Shawn Kasserman, said Monday in a telephone interview. "When he gets to Dr. Kalant, he either inadvertently trips or, as part of the shtick, trips. . . . He grabbed Kalant's arm and fell forward."

Kalant required surgery and could miss up to four months of work. He's seeking unspecified damages.

Benny the Bull has been in all kinds of trouble the last few years. He's been accused of shooting T-shirts at opposing players, he went on Jerry Springer, and he got arrested at Taste of Chicago. Argh, there are just too many "this is bullshit" jokes. [Trib]
