Threadless, Not Artless

By Amy Mikel in Arts & Entertainment on Apr 22, 2008 9:41PM

Roll by Threadless in May, and you will get treated to a display of photography by Chris Eichenseer, who for years has been helping to shape the visual identities of artists in the Chicago independent music scene.

eichenseer2.jpgEichenseer, after studying fine art photography at Uni IL – Urbana, veered into creating art for the music industry, and founded Someoddpilot Design & Photography in 1999 after the commissions started piling up. Since then, Eichenseer has stuffed his resume with an impressive number of projects and collaborations: directing music videos, shooting portraits, and designing posters, logos, and over thirty album covers for independent label musicians.

The show will feature Eichenseer’s general photography and trademark style, “colorful, moody images of disembodied places and urban landscapes photographed against inky nighttime skies.” Reception for “Cry Me a River” will take place on Friday, May 2nd from 7-9 p.m.

3011 N. Broadway Ave, reception May 2 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., show runs through May 20, Free
