2008_04_zombiedriver.jpgIf you feel that once a year is far too little to expose the zombie within, well friend, this weekend holds a not one but two lovely gooey brains for you. Tomorrow holds both the first annual Zombie Pub Crawl followed by a triple zombie feature at the Midway Drive In in Sterling! Gurr.

We suggest starting off this auspicious occasion by zombifying yourself (refer to the Zen of Zombie for tips on complete zombification) before you arrive at 4 p.m. for the Zombie Pub Crawl registration. If you are lost on how to make yourself look like a desecrated corpse raised from the dead, have no fear, the folks at registration will give you a makeup kit and be on hand to help you look as disgusting as possible. They've also posted a few videos to get you started. The stagger, stuttering crawl lasts from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and includes specials at Lakeview haunts Simon's Tavern, Charlie's, and Hamburger Mary's.

But you should really skip the last destination and start your trek (with an sober-un-zombie-driver, who can also serve as yummy snack later) out to Sterling for the 8 p.m. screening of George Romero's latest zombie flick, Diary of the Dead, followed by the hilariously awful punk-zombie Return of the Living Dead and an unannounced midnight tribute to Romero.

By the time your decaying limbs finish up early Sunday, you might actually be permanently zombified.

Pre-registration for the Pub Crawl is $10, while day of is $15 and includes your wristband, make-up kit and an awesome t-shirt. Meet at the US Bank parking lot, 5340 N Clark St. Zombies 21 an up only.

The Midway Drive In is located at 91 Palmyra Rd, Sterling, IL and tickets are $6.50 per person and welcomes zombies and ghouls of all ages.
