Northwestern has rescinded its invitation to award Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright an honorary Doctorate of Sacred Theology. According to a statement released by the school, NU's president wrote a letter to Wright that said, "In light of the controversy surrounding statements made by you that have recently been publicized, the celebratory character of Northwestern’s commencement would be affected by our conferring of this honorary degree."
