Wine Enthusiast's "Toast of the Town" event kicks off this evening at the Field Museum. If you're an oenophile, aspire to be, or are just looking to tie one on around dinosaur bones, then this is the event for you. Over 500 selections will be available for sampling (and don't make it a personal goal to work your way through all of them; it won't happen) along with food prepared from 30 of the best restaurants in the city.

RSVP here. 7:30-10:30 p.m. 1400 S. Lake Shore Drive.

MMmmmm... Beer
Meanwhile, over at Goose Island's Clybourn brewpub, the Chicago Beer Society will be in attendance this evening from 7-10 p.m. to give all you folks who bought the home brew kit at CVS some helpful pointers on how to brew it properly. The society will convene in the brewpub's cellar.

1800 N. Clybourn

Film
Made in 1935 and partly state-sponsored, the film Let's Go With Pancho Villa is the last of filmmaker Fernando de Fuentes's trilogy of the Mexican Revolution. Six friends join up with Villa's forces, only to meet disparate and increasingly brutal fates. Even though it was partly funded by the state and censored big time by the Mexican government, de Fuentes managed to convey his personal view of the revolution and its aftermath in the film. The film is playing this evening at DOC Films.

1212 E. 59th St., 7 p.m.

Author Discussion
If you haven't read Marcus's interview with Aleksander Hemon, do so, please. Hemon will be at Barnes & Noble's Evanston location this evening at 7 p.m. to sign copies of his latest novel, The Lazarus Project.
