Food storage is everything, particularly as we head into summer and we’ll need to be bringing a dish to share at the beach, or the park, or the neighbor’s back yard. Dixie Longate, host of the interactive drag-tastic “Dixie’s Tupperware Party,” is just the person to help you out with all your food storage challenges. Through the years, Dixie Longate (say that fast three times) has risen through the ranks to be the top-selling Tupperware “Queen.”

Dixie is really drag queen actor Kris Andersson, a legitimate Tupperware sales rep who will take his selling party format on the road with a national tour this fall. But you can see Dixie before then--this weekend--burping containers closed. Performing at Hydrate Chicago to a sold-out crowd tonight, another show has been added tomorrow evening.

About her Tupperware selling success, Dixie says,

My thing is everybody knows tupperware, everybody’s seen it. It’s been around forever. So my thing isn’t just selling the Tupperware. My thing is making sure the party is fun. Cause the more fun you have at the party, the more you’re gonna buy their great crap because once you see it, it just sells itself. So I just have to make sure everyone is drunk and taking their pants off and then they’re gonna buy tons of crap.

Tickets are going fast for Hydrate’s 9 p.m. Sunday show. They can be purchased at Hydrate Chicago.com.
