Lake County Sheriff's Number Misprinted In Yellow Pages

By Margaret Lyons in Miscellaneous on Jun 4, 2008 10:13PM

2008_6_4.phonebook.jpgA misprint in the Lake County Yellow Pages resulted in the wrong number being published for the sheriff's department. Instead, Paulsen Productions Inc.'s phone number is listed as the sheriff's non-emergency line, and the company gets about 20 calls a day looking for the sheriff, not the "personal and professional development"(warning: makes noise) company. The sheriff's line is 847-549-5200, and Paulsen's is 847-529-5200. Confusing!

But the real story here? People are still using the Yellow Pages. We know, we know, not everyone uses the internet, but jeeze louise, 20 people a day are using the Yellow Pages to look up the non-emergency line for the Lake County Sheriff? There are around 702,682 people in Lake County, which means .0028 percent of Lake County residents accidentally contact the Paulsen folks every day. [Trib, photo by The New No.2]
