Chicagoist's "Beer of the Week:" Reader's Choice #2

Dan Roush wrote his main choice in the header of his e-mail, along with a couple other selections that we needed to hunt down for later. Thankfully, Dan stayed local, recommending Two Brothers "The Bitter End" Pale Ale.
This American pale ale, a winner at the US Beer Tasting Championship, is a wonderful brew. It pours a light amber to copper in color with a lot of head and lacing on the glass. We could pick up some bread on the nose with a hint of sweetness. Brewed using three different hops, the flavor of this beer is a blend of warm citrus and earthy floral notes. Drinking this put in our head images of the dandelion patch from "Bloom County."
Like all the other year-round selections from Two Brothers, "The Bitter End" is available at any package store worthy of the name. Some better taverns will also have it on tap, next to the Ebel's Weiss. Compared to that, Domaine DuPage and Prairie Path, "The Bitter End" gets lost in the shuffle sometimes. Thanks to Dan Roush, it's Chicagoist's "Beer of the Week."
