Weekend Music Round-Up

To say there's a lot going on this weekend would, uh, kind of be an understatement. But fear not, dear readers. We're on the case. Here's a quick run-down of a few music-oriented events you might want to be a part of.
Ah, Emmylou Harris. Your beauty and beguiling voice has wooed several of the boys of Chicagoist. Her career output is equally impressive and she continues to put out fantastic records. In fact, we're going to go dig out our copy of Wrecking Ball right now. Bluegrassers Jimmy Gaudreau & Moondi Klein open.
Saturday, The Morton Arboretum, 6 p.m., $42 in advance, $50 at the door
Many people know Billy Bragg as "the guy who collaborated with Wilco on the Mermaid Avenue records." But Mr. Bragg has been a fantastic singer/songwriter in his own right for quite some time and is well worth the price of admission.
Saturday, Park West, 8 p.m., $27.50
Also, don't forget about These New Puritans, hitting up Subterranean on Saturday.
Feel like taking that Highway to the Danger Zone? Well, this Sunday it's at Ravinia where Kenny Loggins will be playing for all to hear.
Ravinia, 7 p.m., $50 for reserved, $15 for lawn ($20 day of)
Oscar-winners Glen Hansard (of The Frames) and Marketa Irglova, a.k.a. The Swell Season, play the first of three shows at The Chicago Theatre on Sunday. Tickets are sold out, but if you know where to look, you shouldn't have much trouble finding them.
Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, The Chicago Theatre, 8 p.m.
