The Friday Buffet

We've got a Taste of Chicago preview for you later. In the meantime, here are some things around town to check out in the coming days.

  • The Red Witch Pirate will set sail this evening for a 2-hour cruise and dinner with food catered by Bonsoiree. Cost is $45 and interested parties may RSVP here.
  • The churrasco-meets-slow-food restaurant ZED451 (739 N. Clark St.), which has become one of the hottest destination restaurants in town largely for its stunning rooftop deck, is now serving brunch. The cost is a flat $49 per person, but that cost includes unlimited visits to ZED 451's harvest table, meat, fish and market side dishes. Otherwise, it's just $26 for the harvest table
  • Pastoral's Loop location (53 E. Lake St.) is having a free tasting of American wines in time for the Independence Day holiday with sommelier Jan Henrichsen from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Three Floyds is hosting a release party for its Fantabulous Resplendent XI ale at Lush Wine and Spirits University Village location (1257 S. Halsted) from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
  • Just Grapes fourth annual Grill-Out goes down Wednesday from 5:30-7:30. Cost is $45, $35 for Jsut Grapes Savvy Sippers.
  • The Melting Pot (609 N. Dearborn) is hosting a four-course, six-beer fondue dinner featuring Goose Island selections from 7-10 p.m. Wednesday. Cost is $45 per person.
