The Movie Queens Yakk It Up

By Rob Christopher in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 30, 2008 3:42PM

2008_6moviequeens.jpg The Movie Queens (AKA Windy City Times film critic Richard Knight Jr. and local theater genius David Kodeski) delighted us when we interviewed them late last year, with Richard slamming the Robin Williams stinker License to Wed as the worst film of the year and David going ga-ga over such disparate movies as Coffin Joe and The Driver's Seat. So we're extra delighted that they've just launched a new podcast. It's available for download at their new blog.

The first installment is all about death (how cheery!) and includes a discussion about the recently-deceased Dodie Goodman and Cyd Charisse. It jogged our memory and we suddenly found ourselves thinking about that long-form Janet Jackson video "Alright" from way back, which featured Cyd and Cab Calloway. Eek. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

The Movie Queens make regular updates to their MySpace page, and in the meantime you can catch David Kodeski's new piece at Live Bait Theater's Annual Fillet of Solo starting on July 11.
