First Look: One Two Three Express

With Bridgeport and Chinatown bordering each other, there's no loss for good Chinese food near our home. Matter of fact, we live only a two block walk from LTHForum favorite Ed's Potsticker House.

Open a little over a month and located a block south of Ed's is a new entry to Bridgeport's Chinese Restaurant scene. One Two Three Express has a menu covering the best of both worlds. It has the Cantonese and Szechuan staples casual Chinese food lovers gravitate toward and a decent selection of delicacies that appeal to more adventurous diners.

With a new police station nearly completed across the street, this stretch of South Halsted needs some more restaurant options. Hopefully, One Two Three Express can work out the kinks in its menu by then. The quality of the food here is passable, but nothing we could ecstatically recommend to anyone. We do like the dining area, with its spaciousness, warm colors, and seating that is a step or two above standard Chinese fast food fare. They went into the design of the dining room with the intent of seeing it filled with customers.

One Two Three Express is located at 3205 S. Halsted. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. seven days a week and the phone number is 312-949-9328.
