Holy Ticket Sales, Batman!

The Dark Knight sold a humongoton of tickets over the weekend. $155.34 million is the estimated three-day haul, beating the previous three-day record set last year by Spider-Man 3. Despite the bad economy (or perhaps because if it, if you go for dime store psychology), the multitudes descended on the multiplexes, braving sold-out screenings and power outages.
You don't have to be a genius to conclude that with numbers and critical acclaim like that, Warner Bros. will be itching to produce another installment. So will it be also shot in Chicago? Director Chis Nolan has been lavishing praise on the Windy City, and he's not alone: an AP article concludes "Chicago's mystical, foreboding architecture offered a perfect backdrop" for the story.
As well as it's done so far, The Dark Knight still has a long way to go before catching up with the all-time champ, Titanic, with domestic sales of $600 million. However when you adjust box office figures for inflation, some interesting things happen: Titanic falls to #6. #1? It's still Gone with the Wind, with $1.3 billion. Holy Popcorn!
