Jackson 5 Museum In Gary Not As Easy as 1-2-3

I know it's not the Jackson 5, but this is my favorite Michael Jackson performance. It seemed more fun than a photo of Joe Jackson.

A Jackson 5 museum is in the preliminary planning stages in Gary, but it got a visibility boost after patriarch Joe Jackson announced his support for the project yesteray. So far, there's no groundbreaking date and no timeline for completion. In other words, people are sort of talking about maybe doing a museum or something. The proposed museum would be built near I-80 on city-owned property, and might include the Jackson family's old house.

Jackson was in Gary to tape an episode of his reality show, according to reports, though we can't find anything that indicates any channel has agreed to broadcast said show. He received the keys to the city, and Gary mayor Rudy Clay is a big fan of the museum idea.

Would Jackson need the approval of his variously famous offspring to get the museum plans started?

"I'm Joe Jackson," he said. "I don't need them to approve anything." [WBBM, CBS 2]
