The Friday Buffet

  • WineStyles Chicago (1433 W. Belmont) is hosting a tasting this evening from 6-8 p.m. to benefit the Alzheimer's Association. Cost is $25, $20 of which is tax deductible. There is limited availablility, call 847-933-2413 for more information.

  • Lush Wine and Spirits University Village location (1257 S. Halsted) is opening their outdoor patio for customers and their dogs this evening from 6-9 p.m.

  • Godmother of the Slow Food Movement Alice Waters will be at Green City Market Saturday from 8-9 a.m. to take market attendees shopping for a fundraiser dinner, followed by a book signing from 9-11 a.m.

  • The American Cheese Society wraps up its Festival of Cheese Sunday with a sale of some of the best selections from the festival at deep discounted prices. the sale will be at Kendall College (900 N. North Branch) from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

  • Quartino (626 N. State) kicks off a monthly wine tasting series Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Cost is $20 and guests can take home any of the wines they sample for $10 a bottle.

  • Tiki Road Trip author James Teitelbaum will be at Binny's South Loop Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Sam's South Loop (50 E. Roosevelt Rd.) to host a tiki drinks seminar. Space is limited, cost is $25 and includes a copy of the book.
