Rejoice! Gas Prices (Kind Of) Drop

Gas prices in the Chicago-area have dropped, according to AAA. According to the survey, the current average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Chicago is $4.15. Uh...hooray? Nationally, the average price is $3.996, with the cheapest being in Wichita, Kansas ($3.61) and the most expensive being Anchorage, Alaska ($4.43).
AAA spokeswoman Beth Mosher says, "That's still a pretty high number as compared to what we're used to. Most of us remember the days when it was $3, $3.50. So those are the prices that we're used to and we like to pay. $4.15 is still really a high number for the consumer to stomach." Wait a minute. $3 or $3.50? Those are the prices we're used to and like to pay? Um, no, Beth. We can still remember, not that long ago, when we thought paying over $2 a gallon was a little much. Still, it could be worse: Nyquil is still $93 a gallon.
