White Sox Break Out Brooms, Go Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back
With a slim one-run lead over the Royals entering the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday afternoon, the White Sox knew they needed to get some insurance runs to secure the win after a good outing from youngster Lance Broadway (5.1 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs). They might have gone a little overboard, but we don't hear any Sox fans complaining. The Pale Hose tied a Major League record by hitting four consecutive home runs. Jim Thome started the tear with a three-run shot and was followed up by solo home runs from Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, and Juan Uribe. The 9-2 White Sox victory completed a three-game sweep over the Royals in which the Sox outscored Kansas City 22-2. Next up for the Sox is one of those ridonkulous MLB schedule quirks: a three-game series in Oakland sandwiched in between home-stands.

Cubs Go For Atlanta Sweep
The Cubs are still in the Dirty South, going for a sweep of the Atlanta Braves tonight before a weekend series in Miami against the Marlins.
