White Sox Pummel Mariners, Take Back First Place
The Emotional Roller-Coaster That Is The 2008 Chicago White Sox™ continues: despite giving up three first inning runs, the White Sox overcame the shaky start to blast the visiting Seattle Mariners, 13-5, and climb back into first place. Mark Buehrle gave up all five runs on eleven hits in five and 2/3 innings of work, but got plenty of support from his offense to earn the win. Nick Swisher, Orlando Cabrera, Alexei Ramirez and Carlos Quentin all had homers, with Ramirez knocking in four runs overall and Swisher knocking in three. D.J. Carassco and Horacio Ramirez worked out of the bullpen to hold the lead for the Sox. The win, coupled with a Minnesota loss to weekend Sox victims Oakland, puts the White Sox back into first place in the AL Central by a game. The Pale Hose have won 10 of their last 14 games to keep pace. Rookie Clayton Richard takes the hill for the Sox tonight against King Felix.

Cubs Take Day Off, Prep For Reds
The Cubs had a travel day returning from their recent Dirty South road trip and catching up on the Olympics (rumor has it Zambrano is a huge rhythmic gymnastics fan). A new homestand starts tonight as the Cincinnati Reds roll into town; Rich Harden pitches for the Cubs against struggling rookie Johnny Cueto.
