Chicago Olympians: Day 15

We're inside the final 24 hours of the current Olympiad and there seems to be no need for Jack Bauer. Lots of Gold Medal team finals to go and many with Chicago connections, including both men's and women's indoor volleyball and men's and women's basketball. If Chicago were a nation (say, Chicagonia), it would wind up with a pretty dang decent medal count, eh? I, for one, am in favor of this new nation. I welcome our new Chicagonia overlords. And to them I say, "Full results after the jump."
Men's Track & Field - David Neville, after his Bronze earlier in the week, was part of the American team that took home the 4x400 relay Gold, adding to his medal stash.
Women's Basketball - In the first game of what many hope to be a US sweep of basketball Gold, Team USA, featuring a four-pack of Chicago-related ladies, defeated Australia 92-65 for the first half of the sweep.
Tamika Catchings - 6 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl
Syvlia Fowles - 13 pts, 5 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl
Candace Parker - 14 pts, 4 reb
Cappie Poindexter - 4 pts, 1 stl
Women's Indoor Volleyball - Ogonna Nnamani and the rest of Team USA weren't so lucky as Brazil defeated the Americans 3-1 (25-15, 18-25, 25-13, 25-21) for the Gold. Still, like we've said all along, ain't nothing wrong with a little silver.
