Cubs, Ramirez Rally Past Phils
If this is a "playoff preview" like some think, then Cubs fans have to be feeling pretty good. Despite falling behind 4-1, the Cubs rallied past the Phils 6-4, thanks to a big eight inning with a Mike Fontenot homer and an Aramis Ramirez grand slam. Ryan Dempster pitched six innings, giving up all four Phillies runs; Bob Howry pitched a scoreless eighth for the win and Kerry Wood closed out the ninth for his 28th save. It was the Cubs sixth straight win and one that had Lou pretty stoked: "We're playing with some confidence. It's a credit to our kids. They don't back off and they keep coming at you and good things happen when you play nine innings of baseball."

White Sox Take A Breather
The Pale Hose were off on Thursday to travel from Baltimore to Boston for what is a possible playoff preview (lots of those this weekend) with the Red Sox. Javier Vazquez takes the hill for the Sox, whose lead over the Twins in the AL Central is now 1.5 games thanks to a Minnesota loss last night.
