The buzz over Urban Assault Ride has been high and the event is finally upon us. This Sunday marks the Chicago debut when two-person teams will ride to checkpoints around town to complete crazy obstacle courses and win prizes in a cross-city bicycle scavenger hunt. The obstacle courses have been finalized and are as follows:
- Bottle Cap Obstacle at Crunch Gym
- Bike Fairy Obstacle at The Cycle Center
- Paper Boy Obstacle at Village Cycle Center
- Bike Limbo at Hamlin Park
- Human Wheelbarrow at Oz Park
- Keg Walk at Wicker Park
Teams choose their own routes so obstacle courses will be full of great people watching and photo opportunities all day long. If the thought of watching all the fun makes you antsy, there is still time to participate. Online registration ends tonight at 11:45 p.m. You can also register on Saturday (packet pick-up day) but the fee will be raised to $130 per team. The event starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday at Murphy's Bleachers (3655 N. Sheffield) and also finishes there with a huge party featuring food, New Belgium beer, live music and more games. Visit the UAR website for more information.
