Stebics Sue CBS for "Reckless" Behavior

We're surprised it took this long. Craig Stebic's sister, Jill Webb, and her husband Robert Webb have announced that they filed a lawsuit against CBS2 along with station president Joe Ahern, news director Carol Fowler, and reporters Rob Johnson, Mike Puccinelli, Michele Weldon and Alita Guillen for their role in Bikinigate 2007. At issue is a video that CBS aired showing NBC reporter Amy Jacobson in a bikini at Craig Stebic's home; Jacobson says she was merely trying to get closer to his family to dig for more information into the story about Stebic's still missing wife, Lisa. The video subsequently led to Jacobson's dismissal (The Jake filed her own lawsuit against CBS in July.)
The Webbs say that the station's actions were "reckless" and "malicious" and the reporting has caused them all sorts of "extreme mental anguish" and "severe emotional distress". They are asking for over $40,000 in damages. [S-T, photo by eastbeverly_nsh]
