A&E Halloween-y Roundup, Part 2

By Amy Mikel in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 16, 2008 5:25PM

Chicagoist certainly is a hard and serious Halloween celebrator, with info on costumes, zombie pin-up calenders -- and adding to our previous list of A&E Halloween treats -- here are a few more events to keep on the radar.

12th Annual Boystown Halloween Parade
A surefire good time. Halloween is on a Friday this year, and larger crowds are expected, so planners have extended the parade route north to Addison. Word is that this month's (costumed) Critical Mass will plan their route to join up with the parade.
Parade begins at Melrose and Halsted at 7 p.m. on 10/31, continuing north on Halsted, Free

Zombedy: A Zombie Stereotype Comedy Show2008_10_16_aloft.JPG
The Edge Comedy Club is presenting a first ever stand-up comedy show by zombies, for zombies. Sure to be plentiful jokes on how brains are delicious, fire is scary, and walking can be slow, thankyouverymuch. Also, how the living are so darned uptight all the time. (And Zombedy is kind of a mild tongue twister, no?).
The Edge Comedy Club @ Chicago Center for the Performing Arts, 777 N Green St., 10/31, 10:30 - 12 p.m., $12, $10 students

Aloft's Homecoming Dance...of DEATH!
Like AMEBA, their across-town counterpart, the Aloft Loft dance company specializes in aerial dance - stationary trapezes, silks, ropes, and what-have-yous. This Halloween, the Aloft space is transformed into the Los Muertos High School gym on Homecoming Night, and an aerial-circus style performance will tell the tongue-in-cheek tale of the doomed dance guests.
Aloft Loft, 2041 W Carroll #306, 11/1, 8 - 12 p.m., $30 tickets in advance or $40 at the door, includes admission, punch and hors d'oeuvres. Dress in your homecoming best.
