- The Chicago Department of Human Services has begun training on gay rights in homeless shelters across the city.
- Several teenage girls, all wards of the state, were hospitalized after caretakers reported they were "acting silly." They worried the girls might have ingested cold medicine. Because teenagers need a reason to act "silly."
- The case of an illegal immigrant who worked in an East Moline factory and was convicted of identity theft goes to the Supreme Court.
- It looks like the Woodstock, IL building that was the set of a bed & breakfast in the film Groundhog Day will actually become a bed and breakfast.
