2008_10_wrightplus.jpgWhen we covered the Wright Plus tour organized by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust last spring, a number of readers commented that they'd wished we'd mentioned the event before it took place and before tickets sold out. So consider yourself put on notice.

Tickets for the 2009 Wright Plus tour are now on sale. The all day event on Saturday, May 16, runs $80 for members of the FLW Preservation Trust or $95 for non-members.

The '09 tour includes eight private residential homes in Oak Park designed by Wright and his contemporaries, Wright's Home & Studio and the Unity Temple in Oak Park as well as the Robie House in Hyde Park. The list of homes on the tour includes three Wright-designed homes as well as ones by E.E. Roberts, Tallmadge & Watson and others. Four of the homes are new to the tour, while the repeats typically haven't been featured in five years.

Last year's event sold out well in advance of the tour's date, so if you're interested book it sooner rather than later. Chicagoist took our Dad for his birthday last year, but these would make great holiday gifts!
