By Marcus Gilmer in News on Oct 31, 2008 3:10PM
The Chicago Fire played the New England Revolution to a draw in the opener of their two-game aggregate playoff series last night 0-0. Both teams struggled to get much offense going throughout the physical match that saw 22 fouls and five yellow cards. The Fire mustered five shots on goal (Cuauhtemoc Blanco led the Fire with two) while goalie Jon Busch stopped all four New England shots on goal.
Game Two of the series will be at The Camry next Thursday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. (tickets available via Ticketmaster, $15 - $45). Because of the scoreless draw last night, things are pretty simple for Game Two: no matter what the score, the winner advances. If you can't make it out to Bridgeview, the game will be televised on ESPN2 and the Fire are also throwing two official viewing parties: at The Globe Pub (1934 W. Irving Park Rd.) and Quigley's Irish Pub (43 Jefferson, Naperville).
And if you think you're worthy of joining McBride, Blanco, and the rest of the Fire, head to the Fire's official tryouts December 1st through 3rd at at The MAX Indoor Soccer Center in McCook, Illinois. Registration is $125 and the deadline to apply is November 20th.
