Blackhawks Whip Stars
The Dallas Stars drew first blood with an early goal, but then the Blackhawks took over and never looked back, skating past the Stars 5-2. Down 1-0 in the first, Cam Barker scored on a power play and Patrick Kane netted his sixth goal of the season to put the 'Hawks ahead 2-1. Dallas scored in the second to tie the game at two goals apiece, but the Blackhawks then scored the next three goals while shutting down Dallas to take the win. Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 21 of 23 Dallas shots to earn the victory as the 'Hawks climbed above .500 with a 4-3-3 record and a tie (points-wise) for second in the division with the Nashville Predators. Tonight the team is in Columbus where the puck drops at 6 p.m.
Celtics Roll By Bulls
Plagued by poor shooting, the Bulls fell to the Celtics in Boston on Halloween night 96-80. The Bulls only mustered 31 first-half points and shot 29.8 percent from the field for the entire night. Derrick Rose continued a good start to his rookie season, leading all Bulls with 18 points. Ben Gordon had 11 points off the bench and Joakim Noah pulled down 13 rebounds. But, really, that's not much of a silver lining with the way the Bulls shot. They hope to bounce back tonight back in the friendly confines of the United Center against the Memphis Grizzlies.
