Blackhawks Beat Columbus in Shootout
The Blackhawks took to the road and wound up with their second straight win, a 4-3 shootout victory over Columbus. Cristobal Huet was by far the MVP of the game, stopping 48 of 51 shots on goal, including three saves in the shootout. Patrick Sharp, Brent Seabrook, and Martin Havlat scored the regulation goals for the 'Hawks and Jonathon Toews had the game-clincher in the shootout. Huet was happy with his performance, though he downplayed the Bluejackets' shots. "They threw a lot of pucks at the net. We made a few mistakes, but overall I think most of their shots were from the outside, which is fine."

Rose Leads Bulls To Victory Over Griz
Rookie Derrick Rose continues his impressive rookie campaign, pouring in 26 points and pulling down six rebounds as the Bulls recovered from one of the teams worst-ever shooting performances to top the Grizzlies 96-86. Drew Gooden pulled down 20 rebounds and Kirk Hinrich poured in 18 points off the bench for the Bulls. As for the rookie Rose's performance, he said, "All I'm trying to do is win the game. If that takes me to score 20 some points or five some points it doesn't matter as long as we win."

Northwestern Wins Thriller
Good Lord, what an ending. After blowing a 10-0 first quarter lead, the Wildcats got a 48-yard interception return from Brendan Smith in the closing seconds for a 24-17 victory over the No. 20 Minnesota Gophers. Back-up quarterback Mike Kafka earned 350 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in the victory. See the big play at the 4:23 mark in the below video. Oh, and the Wildcats are now bowl-eligible.

Illinois Holds On For Victory Over Iowa
Despite blowing a 24-9 fourth quarter lead, the Illini managed to pull a 27-24 victory out of...somewhere thanks to a 46-yard field goal with 24 seconds left. The Juice Box threw for 272 yards and a touchdown but mustered nothing on the ground in the victory. Arrelious Benn had seven catches for 96 yards in the win. At 5-4, Illinois is still a victory short of being bowl-eligible.

Pitt Outlasts Irish in Four Overtimes
Even though they had a 17-3 halftime lead, the Irish couldn't hold on as they fell to the Panthers of Pitt 36-33 in four overtimes. Despite three interceptions by the Irish defense, Notre Dame could never put Pitt away. Once the teams reached overtime, they exchanged field goals for the first three overtimes before Notre Dame kicker Brandon Walker finally blinked and missed a 38-yard field goal leaving Pitt kicker Connor Lee the chance to get the win with a 22-yarder. Irish QB Jimmy Clausen threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns.
