Blackhawks Drill Avs For Third Straight Win
Andrew Ladd and Patrick Sharp scored two goals each as the Blackhawks scored four fourth period goals to drill the Colorado Avalanche 6-2. It was a physical match in which Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 24 of 26 shots as the 'Hawks took their third consecutive win. A note of sad news, though: 68-year-old Margaret Kuhlman collapsed at the game and was taken to Rush University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Bulls Edged By Magic
The Bulls started slow again, just like they did last weekend against the Celtics, and, though they recovered, they still couldn't claw their way past Orlando, losing 96-93. Drew Gooden netted 21 points and rookie Derrick Rose added 14 in the losing effort. Andres Nocioni had 20 points off the bench and Ben Gordon added 17.
