Crime-O-Rama

Did crime take a holiday to celebrate the home town senator's election? Nope. Among some of the criminal mischief going on about town:

  • An attempted bank robbery in Bolingbrook ended in the suspect's arrest. According to Bolingbrook police, the robbery happened at a branch of West Suburban Bank around 7 a.m. this morning. ""First reports were that a male subject forced his way into the bank as employees were opening up this morning. This [robber] implied he was armed but a weapon was not displayed." After the robber departed, an employee called police with a description; the suspect was later apprehended and the money was recovered.

  • Two men crashed a car into the front window of a West Side Footlocker store, then ran through the store grabbing merchandise. A witness saw the two men flee with arms full of stolen goods, but the car was left at the scene. The incident occurred yesterday morning around 6 a.m., so no one was in the store at the time. Police currently have no suspects in the incident.

  • Jeremy Miller, 27, was charged with felony theft after police discovered him in possession of 17 stolen bikes. A man whose bike was stolen from a Metra stop last month helped police track down Miller when he saw the bike for sale on eBayt. The winning bid was actually placed by police who arrested Miller when they went to pick up the bike. Ya burnt!
