Marwen, an out-of-school art education organization for Chicago youth, is holding their 3rd annual Art Fair tonight, exhibiting about 170 pieces of varying artwork by its students, alumni, staff, and teaching artists. Half of the proceeds from artwork sales will go towards the artist, and half will be donated back to the school.

In commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, the world-class Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra will be performing a Chicago premiere concert at Harris Theater. Readings
The newest title from GirlChild Press, Just Like a Girl: A Manifesta!, is a collection of short stories, essays and poems from “girls” aged 14-60, thematically arranged around the world of young women. Editor Michelle Sewell and some of the book's contributors will read from and discuss the anthology at the Women and Children First bookstore.

Throat Singing: an exercise where a vocalist manipulates the harmonic resonances of air traveling from the lungs, allowing two or three notes to be sung simultaneously. Here is an opportunity to see a performance of this discipline, presented by Nikolay Oorzhak, master of Khoomei Throat Singing, and his disciple Dr.Vladislav Matrenitsky.
