• Four state Supreme Court justices have been asked to excuse themselves from a hearing involving Chicago-based Corboy & Demetrio because they received campaign contributions from the firm.

• Looks like all that speculation that Obama would pick New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson as his commerce secretary was correct. Look for him to make the announcement tomorrow.

• Republican North Shore Rep. Mark Kirk sent President Bush a letter today asking him to dismiss Sen. Durbin's request to grant former Governor George Ryan clemency.

• If you're a woman, apparently Gary, Indiana is bad for you; in fact, it's the second unhealthiest place in America for you. Thank goodness for Detroit!

• Keep the boots out: a winter weather advisory is in effect for the area all day tomorrow and as much as 3 to 5 more inches of snow could fall!
