The Not-Quite-Yet-Winter Storm of 2008 was fashionably late, had a strong beginning when it did start, lagged a bit in the middle, and, in the end, was kinda impressive but won't quite live up to the hype. Essentially, it was a Snoop Dogg show. The Chicagoist office has a new 4 to 5 inches of snow and sleet on top of the previous 5 inches we had Tuesday. It's going to be a long day, but a good one to stay inside. The snow/ice is still coming down a bit but will taper off as the day wears on - though don't count out some lake-effect flurries - and temps will hover around 30 under cloudy skies. But wait, there's more: another system tomorrow night could bring an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow. Also, we'd like to remind you that winter doesn't officially start until Sunday, when we'll ring in the season with a projected low of -6 on Sunday night. So there's that.
