Hope you like that snow on the ground, because there's more where that came from. Yes, just as most of the staff had successfully dug their cars out of the drifts of snow from last week's storms comes word that we're in line for another dose of snow. As usual, we stick by our official Chicagoist "more than zero, less than 10" prognostication, but Skilling says somewhere between 3 and 7 inches will be the final tally when this one's done wreaking havoc on holiday travelers. And not all of it will be snow, so be careful as sleet accumulates. But the good news? After going a 29-hour stretch from Sunday into Monday of temps below zero, we're going to hit the upper 20's today, followed by another storm this weekend which will be mostly rain, thanks to tropical temps in the 40s.
