In dire need of a road win, the Bulls came through against the New Jersey Nets Monday night, 100-87. Knotted at 86 with 4:35 to play, Chicago held Jersey to just one point down the stretch while Ben Gordon sunk a pair of treys to seal the deal. Those six points brought Gordon's game total to 24, and Derrick Rose added 21 while dishing out 13 assists. Coming into the contest the Bulls were 0-for-December away from the United Center, and they hadn't won in New Jersey since 2001.

Missouri Edges Northwestern
Short one extra point, Northwestern suffered a 30-23 OT loss to the Missouri Tigers in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Wildcats were the beneficiaries of three Chase Daniel interceptions, but Northwestern returned the favor with several miscues of their own. The coverage team let Missouri's Jeremy Maclin slip through for a punt-return touchdown, and kicker Amado Villarreal doinked a point-after attempt off the upright early in the third. Senior QB C.J. Bacher looked sharp with three long touchdown strikes, but his costly fumble on third-and-goal in overtime left the Wildcats with a 31-yard desperation heave that wasn't to be. Northwestern has now gone 60 years without a bowl victory.

College Basketball
Chicago State palindromed the Campbell Fighting Camels 98-89 on Monday. The prolific David Holston went over the hill with 40 points, eight threes and 10 assists, as the Cougars were able to sustain a seven-point halftime lead. Chicago State hopes to play home wrecker on Tuesday, when they face the UCF Knights in the championship game of the UCF Holiday Classic.
