Trailblazers Burn Bulls
The Bulls dropped one to the Portland Trailblazers on Monday, 109-95. Chicago led for most of the first half, but relinquished their early lead when Portland made a 14-3 run to close out the second quarter. The Bulls clawed to within five points midway through the fourth, but a trio of unanswered threes from Rudy Fernandez, Brandon Roy and Steve Blake put the game away for Portland. Drew Gooden tied his season high with 22 points, but was overshadowed by Travis Outlaws' 33 off the Trailblazer bench. The Bulls, who welcomed the return of Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich, are back at full strength for the first time since Nov. 8.

College Basketball
No. 13 Notre Dame ran out of steam against the no. 20 Louisville Cardinals, falling 87-73 in OT. The Irish managed just one point in the last 5:30 of regulation, giving the Cardinals an opportunity to square it up. The flatline continued for Notre Dame in overtime, who recorded only one basket in the bonus period, while Louisville rang up 14 unanswered. Luke Harangody scored 28 and secured 13 rebounds in the losing effort.

Chicago State sawed off the Longwood Lancers with a 94-86 victory. The Cougars kept Longwood at arm's length throughout the contest, maintaining the separation by shooting over 53 percent from the field. David Holston scored 32, John Cantrell had 27, and Carl Montgomery tacked on 13 points and 18 boards. Holston continues to lead the nation in both points scored and three pointers made, adding six long balls to his total Monday night.
