The Chicagoist Three-Second Interview: Sen. Roland Burris

While hanging about at the Obama Home States Ball, we were lucky enough to grab a few seconds with newly sworn-in Senator Roland Burris. Of course, we wound up channeling our inner Katie Couric and gave him a few softballs before he was whisked away by his staff. But we like to think we did as well as D.L. Hughley would have.
Chicagoist: How was your first week?
Sen. Roland Burris: Beautiful. We're doing very well: getting adjusted, learning the rules, and trying to make sure that we had inaugural tickets for as many constituents as we could.
C:How do you feel about tonight?
RB: It is a situation I thought I'd never see in my lifetime. It's fantastic. Only in America. Not only do I know him personally, but he's also from my state and we made history tonight.
C: Are you nervous about filling his shoes in the Senate?
RB: I can handle it, without a doubt.
