2009_01_22kitkatlounge.jpg Retro Party
The Kit Kat Lounge in Boystown, a favorite local party spot known for its fabulous atmosphere and fierce drag queens, hosts 80s parties every Thursday night complete with a rotating set of flashback films. Tonight you can catch The Lost Boys on one of the restaurant's jumbo projection screens while taking advantage of drink specials and retro menu items. As if you didn't know, the resident Kit Kat Divas will dress as '80s icons and perform our favorite pop hits.
Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club, 3700 N. Halsted, Thursdays through February 26, 7 p.m.

Film
If you're feeling fertile, alive and in touch with the cycles of the moon this Friday, head to Lunafest at Depaul University to check out short films created by, for or about women. The very reasonable ticket price benefits the Breast Cancer Fund and Females United For Action and buys you the chance to see 11 fantastically feminine films. A reception opens the event with snacks provided by Whole Foods and a raffle. (No word on what the prize is, though.) Sponsored by Luna Bars.
DePaul University Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield, Friday, January 23, 6 p.m., $5.

Nerdery
If Pogs, slap bracelets or Beanie Babies were ever your thing, perhaps you (or a child you know) will be interested in tonight's Ye Olde English Dunny event at Rotofugi. The new series of mini anime figurines by Kidrobot won't officially be released until midnight, but a mad trading event for the artistic toy pieces will lead up to the big moment. It's like a White Elephant party that indulges our inner geek. Games, prizes and snacks will be available during the swap.
Rotofugi, 1954-55 W. Chicago, Trading Party 5 - 8 p.m., Release Party 12 - 1 a.m.
