Adventures in Blago-sitting: Trials and Tribune-lations Day 3

By Marcus Gilmer in News on Jan 28, 2009 5:20PM

2009_01_29_blago.jpg Ah, Governor Blagojevich, you cause of no end of amusement. Even though today won't be quite as fun as yesterday's airing of the Blago Tapes, you still continue to keep the tapes in the limelight, this time by wanting to have the complete set aired. Blago told CBS 2, "Before they remove a governor who's been elected twice by the people, hear the whole truth, every tape. Richard Nixon, during Watergate, fought tooth and nail to keep those tapes from being heard because he knew there was something wrong on there. Me? I'm the opposite, the anti-Nixon. I want every one of those tapes heard in the impeachment trial, and every witness called in."

Meanwhile, he's not quite measuring the drapes, but Lt. Governor Pat "The Mighty" Quinn is already making plans for if/when he takes office as Governor. One of the first things he promises to do is to remove Blagojevich's prominently displayed name from tollway signs. Calling the signs an example of "pompous government," Quinn said (we assume tongue-in-cheek), "The signs will go down, and we'll probably have a ceremony to do it. I might even ask some toll payers to help us out."

And if you still have some weird craving to check out more of Blago's media appearances, we recommend these clips of the Gov appearing on Rachel Maddow's show.
