- Governor Blagojevich won't testify on his own behalf, it appears Blago will actually show up to his impeachment trial tomorrow in Springfield to make a closing statement in his own defense.
- Frank Calabrese, Sr., one of Chicago's "most prolific hitmen," has been sentenced to life in prison.
- Two men were found shot to death inside an apartment on the city's South Side. The victims were Ronald "Ronnie" Hampton, 36, and James Smith, 52.
- Nine people were hurt this afternoon when a No. 126 Jackson CTA bus collided with another vehicle; none of the injuries were thought to be life-threatening.
- A Hospice nurse has been charged with stealing money from a now-deceased patient that was under her care.
- Starbucks is closing down 300 more stores, including some in Chicago, though they haven't said yet which ones.
