Chicagoist Contest: Where's Marcus?

By Staff in Miscellaneous on Feb 6, 2009 6:00PM

As you may have read (or heard), our Avril Lavigne-loving Editor-in-Chief, Marcus Gilmer, attended the swearing in of President Barack Obama as a full-fledged member of the press (seriously, we haven't heard the end of his babbling on about it). A few days after the inauguration, the following panoramic photo was brought to our attention.

Photographer David Bergman used over 220 images to create this panoramic and if you go here, you can zoom in and pan around to see everyone in the picture. Including Marcus. Which got us thinking: what better way to put a cap on our (seemingly endless) inauguration "coverage" than to hold a contest?

Here are the rules:

  1. Go here to view the complete, searchable panoramic and find Marcus.
  2. Take a screenshot of him proving you've found him (use MS Paint skills to circle him if need be).
  3. Email the screenshot to tips (at) Chicagoist (dot) com with the subject title, "Where's Marcus?" Note: "I found him!" comments won't count.

2009_02_06_marcus.jpg And, just because Marcus is famous only in his mind, we realize you need to know what he looks like. After all, that's how Where's Waldo does it. So take a look at the pic to the right. Making a face only a mother could love, eh, Marcus? (his defense: "It was cold!") So get to searching! It took several of us quite a spell to find him, but somehow we trust one of our readers to find him in an insanely quick amount of time. Pretty simple, no? The first person to correctly find him will win a nice prize: The Biography Channel's Barack Obama bio DVD (inaugural edition). However, if the winner is not a fan of our current Prez, we'll see about sending you a Chicagoist t-shirt instead.

UPDATE: Marcus has been found! Congratulations to Jeff for picking Marcus out of a cast of millions.
