Elton John, Billy Joel To Play Wrigley

2009_02_10_johnjoel.jpg This year's Wrigley Summer Concert will have piano-pop fans delighted. The rest of us? Eh. In a continued effort to make sure only nostalgia acts over the age of 55 play concerts there, Elton John and Billy Joel are teaming up for this year's summer concert at Wrigley, being held on July 21. We guess the Kansas-Moody Blues juggernaut couldn't squeeze Chicago in. In keeping with Wrigley Field tradition, ticket prices have also been set at buyer-friendly rates of $175, $95, and $55 (before the jacked-up fees, of course).

The two ivory-ticklers have toured together many times over and have made a boatload of money in the process. We're sure that the show will be a sell-out without any problem. No word if a second show would be added, as previous Wrigley rockers Jimmy Buffet and The Police have both played two shows at the Friendly Confines.

We won't be shelling out the dough for this, but if you feel up to it, tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday morning via Tickets.com or 1-800-THE-CUBS.
