Nothing cures a bad case of Valentine's Day candy bloat like rock bands and scholarly get-togethers, which is what we've got for you today:

Musique
Free show at Schubas? That's right. Grammar (featuring Chicagoista Lizz Kannenberg), Rego, and Brighton, MA perform for you for free. You just have to be over 21 to enter -- otherwise, it's Miley Cyrus and Jonas Bros. for you. (Well, it's your fault for being so young.)
9 p.m., 3159 N. Southport

Symposia/Workshops
If you're into open source software and related legal issues, the Saper Law Open Source Symposium takes place tomorrow (Feb. 17). This all-day event brings together members of the open source community for an in-depth discussion of the business and legal ramifications of using or producing open source software. Speakers include independent software developers, CEOs and CTOs of established businesses, and representatives of software giants like Microsoft. Saper Law attorneys will delve into licensing and intellectual property issues and university professors talk policy. $145 to attend, but you'll learn a lot.
8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd, 8th Floor
