Stolpman PWNS Caipirinha Competition

When it comes to competition, we here at Chicagoist don't mess around. You ask us to participate in an alt-media slam, for example, and we will scorch the earth beneath you like Sherman marched through Georgia.
Last night, Stolpman participated in a caipirinha competition at Texas de Brazil churrascaria downtown (51 E. Ohio, 312-670-1006) benefiting Meals on Wheels. In a field that included bold entries from Sun-Times Associate Food Editor Denise O'Neal, Chicago Social Drink Editor Marissa Conrad, PLATE Magazine Editor Chandra Ram and Chicago Scene Drink Editor Stephanie Miller, the lightweight-at-the-bar Stolpman took home top honors with her concoction, which didn't stray far from tradition. After seeing some of the ingredients the others were using, it turned out the pep talk I gave her worked; the judges were also looking for a cocktail that didn't stray far from tradition.
The "L-Stop," named after reader spook's nickname for Stolps, was judged the best of the five and will soon be featured on the Texas de Brazil website. This also means that, with one cocktail, Stolpman did more to immortalize spook in one night than his five years of signifying in the comments ever could.
Please give the woman her propers.
