Wanna Buy A Bunny?

AdWeek is reporting that Playboy would consider a sale, were there to be a viable buyer, based on falling ad and circulation revenues (what else is new) and an expected continued drop of ad revenue in the upcoming quarter.
What could be worse than selling the magazine? AdWeek also says that the company also might consider "a strategic change in direction for its flagship magazine in the face of challenging financial conditions." Whatever that means, we hope it doesn't imply that Playboy might go full-filth a la Penthouse and Hustler. Not only is beer not standing up in the face of this recession, Playboy can't sell beautiful naked women. Our economy really is f'ed.
The company continues to defend Christie Hefner's $2M payout when she left the CEO position based on her decades of service, which makes you wonder how much Hef blows per year on his House that Poon built. At least his "Girls Next Door" is a growth industry - who's not psyched about the new Kendra Wilkinson reality show? Anyone? Didn't think so.
