Blackhawks Drop Dallas
The Blackhawks scored a 3-1 victory over the Stars on Saturday, completing a four-game, season sweep of the Dallas skaters. Patrick Kane poked in the game-winner seven and a half minutes into the second period, bookended by one-timers from defensemen James Wisniewski and Matt Walker as Chicago took a 3-0 lead. Cristobal Huet was once again stellar in net with 30 saves on 31 attempts, the spoiler coming on a breakaway goal midway through the third. The 'Hawks will return to a hero's welcome when they host the Minnesota Wild tonight, having amassed nine wins in their last 12 games, 11 of which were played on the road.


College Basketball
Notre Dame overwhelmed the Providence Friars, 103-84, as Ryan Ayers buried seven threes and scored 28 points to lead the Irish.

DePaul was no match for DeJuan Blair and the no. 4 Pittsburgh Panthers, losing 80-61 as they were uable to compete in the paint.

UIC sank the Southern Illinois Salukis, 74-67, relying upon their 46-percent three-point shooting.

Loyola fell to the Bradley Braves, 86-75, with Bradley earning 30 of its points from the charity stripe.

Chicago State cruised past Olivet Nazarene, 96-68, shooting 57 percent from the field and benefiting from 27 Tiger turnovers.

NIU triumphed over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, 97-73, dominating the boards and scoring their highest point total of the season.
