Tonight at the much anticipated and already ill-fated Morse Theatre, the Occidental Brothers Dance Band International will headline the First Annual Global Warming Party, curated by the city's Department of Cultural Affairs.

The Occidental Brothers play West African dance music ... think Fela Kuti meets Bebo Valdes meets your not-going-to-happen-in-this-economy vacation. They're fresh off a concert at globalFEST, one of the music industry's biggest conferences, and were named 2008's Best World Music Group by the folks at Chicago Reader.

Local groups Fandanguero and Steve Gibbons Gypsy Rhythm Project featuring Nicolae Feraru round out the line-up with music from Mexico and Central / Eastern Europe. If you haven't made it out to the Morse you'd better hurry up since it's only open until March 7.

Morse Theatre, 1328 Morse, 8 p.m., $10, all ages
